Stephen L. Phillips, Jr., MD, FAAP

  • Dr. Phillips was born and raised in Charleston, SC. Following high school he wasn't sure if he wanted to be a veterinarian or a physician, but he eventually decided on being a "people doctor." He has always loved working with kids and so it was a natural decision to become a pediatrician.
  • Dr. Phillips received his BS in Biology from The Citadel. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he also completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics. Dr. Phillips is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • Growing up in Charleston, Dr. Phillips developed a love for the outdoors and being on the water. He enjoys fishing, flounder gigging, and hunting. He is married and has 5 children ranging in ages from 9 to 26.


Julie S.Erwin, MD, FAAP

Dr. Erwin is homegrown in eastern North Carolina. She grew up in White Lake and has been in Greenville since 2000. Dr.Erwin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology at Wake Forest University where she graduated with honors. She completed her medical degree at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and stayed in Greenville during her internship and residency training in Pediatrics. She served an additional year as Chief Resident/Jr. Faculty with ECU Pediatrics. Dr. Erwin has been with Eastern Pediatrics, P.A. since 2008 and is board certified in Pediatrics.

Dr. Erwin is married with children and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves God, music, NASCAR, and just being outdoors.


Karen M. Goth, MD, FAAP

Dr. Goth grew up right outside of Poughkeepsie, New York, about 90 miles North of New York City. She completed her undergraduate training at Cornell University School of Arts and Sciences, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry in 2001. She then attended State University of New York Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences where she received her medical degree in 2005. She moved to Greenville in 2005 for residency and has been here since. She completed her Pediatrics residency in 2008 and like Dr. Erwin stayed an additional year at the Brody School of Medicine as chief resident in Pediatrics.

Dr. Goth has been with Eastern Pediatrics since 2009 and is board certified in Pediatrics. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, music, fishing and the outdoors, and spending time with her family.


Erin K. Lucas, FNP-BC

Erin was born in Philadelphia, PA. She initially attended East Carolina University and received her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Education. After teaching for several years, she decided to enter the medical field. She worked for four years as a registered nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit. Throughout this time she also worked on completing her Masters in nursing and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Erin has been employed with Eastern Pediatrics since November 2011.

Outside of work, Erin's interests include reading, exercise, travel, and cooking. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
